Laser Vein Removal

Laser Vein Removal

At Serene Radiance, the most common treatments are for broken capillaries (small vessels, usually found on the face) or spider veins (small-medium sized, typically found along the legs).

At Serene Radiance, we use the gold standard Nd-YAG laser for treating spider and facial veins. Laser treatment usually lasts 15-25 minutes. Generally, up to 4 treatments are needed to remove spider veins in the legs or on the face. There is minimal downtime, so you can return to normal activity right after treatment.

The laser targets the blood in the blood vessel, causing it to coagulate and collapse the targeted vein. The body then repairs the area and absorbs the coagulated blood vessel.

During the treatment, the surrounding skin is protected by our state-of-the-art integrated cooling handpiece. By cooling the treated skin, we optimize the comfort and safety of the treatment.

Laser energy is directed to the veins, collapsing them and ideally eliminating them. Bruising often occurs in the area treated with laser and lasts for a few weeks. Lasers are especially suited to treat smaller spider veins when a needle cannot be used because of the size.

Other vascular imperfections that we treat at Serene Radiance with the Nd-Yag laser are:

Telangiectasia: These appear as fine red lines visible on the surface of the skin. These are most commonly found around the nose and the cheeks.

  • Cherry Angiomas: These are a conglomeration of dilated capillaries and look like raised moles but are red or ruby- coloured.

The advantage of laser treatment for all the above conditions is that it is non-invasive. No needles are required, and there is no downtime with the procedure.

* Individual results may vary. Consultation is required to assess client requirements.

Sclerotherapy

This procedure is used to treat blood vessels. A medication is injected into the vessels, which makes them shrink.

Some side effects include:

  • Bruising
  • Stinging
  • Swelling
  • Skin discolouration
  • Discomfort
  • Raised red areas around the injection site
  • Small varicose veins or spider veins
