What is Laser Hair Removal?

Edmonton’s Serene Radiance Laser Center is a one-of-a-kind medical spa facility that combines the latest in advanced technology medical therapies with the service, commitment, and attention to detail of a spa.

Laser hair removal is a simple in-office laser procedure. Prior to treatments, we offer a complimentary detailed consultation with one of our certified laser technicians, to assess your goals and expectations as well as answer any questions you may have.

The laser hair removal procedures vary in time according to the area(s) being treated.

The most common areas are underarms, legs, arms, shoulders, bikini, buttocks, back, and chest, as well as the upper lip, chin, and sideburns.

How Many Laser Hair Removal Treatments Are Required?

The number of required laser hair removal treatment sessions depends on the hair growth cycle, hair colour and depth. We suggest an average number of six to eight sessions for dark and coarse hair under normal hormonal conditions. More sessions may be required for light and fine hair and for more hormonally controlled areas like the chin. Usual intervals for the first three sessions are four to six weeks on the face and eight to ten weeks on the body, increasing the intervals as treatment progresses. Touch-up treatments may be needed for sporadic new hair growth during individual natural physiological processes.

Laser Technologies We Use

At Serene Radiance Laser Centre, we offer Nd: YAG & IPL lasers and Candela GentleMax Pro for permanent hair reduction. The Fotona high-performance Nd: YAG laser systems with FRAC3®technology have introduced new standards of efficiency in providing safe and effective hair reduction, using an innovative system that effectively targets hair follicles with a combination of selective and homogeneous photo thermolysis.

Also, our Candela GentleMax Pro is safe and effective for all skin types. This is because the patented Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD) technology allows it to deliver consistent bursts of protective cryogen (a substance that produces very low temperatures) while preventing thermal damage in the treatment area.

Our certified laser practitioners will discuss with you all the best possible laser hair removal treatment options and the best hair removal wavelengths for your particular type of skin and hair.

We like to offer a program that includes different lasers during the course of your treatments, which will give you the highest possible permanent hair reduction.

There is no “one best laser” for hair removal; therefore, we combine some of the different well-known and accepted technologies and wavelengths of light to give you optimal results of permanent hair reduction. Our laser technologies enable us to treat all skin types and most hair types.
